It’s spring break in the Vossen kitchen. In reality my daughter’s preschool is off all week and we aren’t doing anything remotely spring break-y. Instead of a trip to somewhere tropical, I packed up our two kids and headed to my parents. (A quick two hour drive that feels like five with Oliver in the back seat.)
I left my camera and computer at home by mistake, and when I realized it, was so mad because I had pictures ready for recipes to post this week.
Then I realized this could be a blessing in disguise because it’s hard to find time for blogging when you are visiting your childhood home. I already taught Vaida how to play battleship (I forgot how fun that game is!), tomorrow we have a mother-daughter piano lesson scheduled and there is a huge tote of my sisters’ Barbies that we have to dig into. If you are wondering about Oliver, I will be chasing him non-stop up and down one of the many sets of stairs here and he just discovered that Grandma’s kitchen cabinets do not have locks.
There’s just so much to do when you are in a farm house sourrounded by fields that I guess I’ll use this as an excuse to take a week off of blogging. We will be spending plenty of time in the kitchen but I’m looking forward to the relaxation and fun that can happen when I’m not jotting down ingredients or asking Vaida to move out of my natural light for a shot.
I’ll promise you extra posts next week. 😉 Happy spring break!
