The Perfect Cup of Hot Cocoa
Serves: 3 cups
  • 3 Tbls cocoa powder
  • 2 Tbls pure maple syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • 3 c milk (I use 2%)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Homemade whipped cream (heavy whipping cream + powdered sugar) (optional)
  1. In a small sauce pan over medium-low heat whisk together cocoa, maple syrup, salt and cinnamon. Slowly pour in milk and continue to whisk until just about to simmer (or heated to your desired temperature).
  2. Add vanilla and pour into mugs.
  3. Top with homemade whipped cream.
